GTA V Realistic Snowfalls Mod v1
Description :
Twelve years after the release of my first mod, ‘Realistic Snowfall v1’ for GTA IV, I'm back with a similar mod, but for GTA V!
This mod makes snowfall in GTA V more realistic and abundant, creating an immersive winter atmosphere.
I don't know if this mod is compatible with GTAV Legacy... you'll have to test it!
Change log v1 : initial version for GTA V (will be updated soon)
- Snow is no longer transparent and falls faster, just like in real life.
- Snowflake resolution has been reduced to increase their density when it snows.
- All types of snowy weather, snowfall intensity and ‘snow boxes’ have been reworked and improved:
+ ‘XMAS’ weather = snow with bright, dense flakes, cloudy sky with some sunny spells, a little mist
+ ‘SNOWLIGHT’ weather = light snow with small, tight flakes, bright but overcast sky
+ ‘SNOW’ weather = moderate to heavy snow, with little or no wind, fog and darker sky
+ ‘BLIZZARD’ weather = heavy and intense snowfall with large flakes, wind, freezing fog and dark sky

Absolutely beautiful. Well done. FIRE
ERR_MEM_EMBEDDEDALLOC_GUARD_1 Game memory error. Please reboot and restart the game. Occurs during the loading process, checked this twice, the game crashes. I use the Legacy Version 1868.. Any help?
@flash76 Excellent job you did on this mod. Now you can clearly see plentiful snow flakes coming down and you get an overall feel of a real wintry scene, looks much more realistic, specially with the wind moving the snow flakes around and stuff...good job bro!!. I like transforming gta 5 into a winter wonderland, I do that every year, as it matter of fact, I uploaded a winter mod here a few years ago but, it got kind of incompatible with patches afterwards. Right now I'm working on putting snow on every single vehicle using zmodeler but, it's a very difficult and time consuming task, eventually I'll get it done though, anyways I did an oiv package with your files which makes it much more easier to install, I would recommend you to do the same and upload an optional oiv package for everyone to download and install, that's just a suggestion.
I do have a question for you though, now with this mod installed do you think is even necessary to have this one installed > https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/snow-particle-lua , That's a "LUA" script that was created and uploaded by MrReese back in 2016, it's an old mod. It enables snow particles that were missing when Snow mod for Single-Player was enabled with trainer or simple script. I don't even know if you're familiar with that specific mod, go to the link and take a look at the description and see if it's worth keeping it alongside your mod or not and let me know.
@7777N It's probably meant for later versions, I'm on 2372 and same thing for me too.
Is this mod implemented with a random weather timecycle, or do I need to manually trigger it?
@flash76 absolutely beautiful work! Really is like in real life! 10/10. I am only spotting some fps loss, is this fixable?
Thanks!
@Kristian2001 I think the FPS loss will be difficult to fix unless if we reduce the number of particles in visualsettings.
@7777N @Starfox1993 I just see your comment now, I am sorry but I think this mod is not compatible with version older than v1.0.3095.0 ... I updated my game and I cannot test my mod on an older version. But I think you can try to install the fxweather.ytd part + visualsettings part, and you will have the snow particle (more snow) effect. After you can try to install timecycle folder part (w_blizzard.xml etc) for the fog and sky effect, but not sur it works.
@JAM102970 Ok I will try the LUA mod on GTAV 1.0.3725. About the OIV package I will create it in the next update.
Thank you for all your comments.
@flash76 No wories, I can only imagine how great it is.
@flash76 if you can reduce slightly the particles in a next update, it might be a good solution for a more steady gameplay :) nevertheless great work
This is the best snowfall mod I have seen.. the way the snow gracefully falls then switches to falling in sheets faster then back to graceful and the big snowflakes it's like a Hallmark movie haha it's so cool!
@Kristian2001 In a next update I will make two version of the file with more and less snow particles in this case.
