Like the idea of this, but can't get the UI to open.. (left arrow key does nothing)
Love this car, thanks for sharing!
One small issue though - the vinyl texture appears corrupted - i'm seeing a pattern of car parts on it!?
@lucasjuhas - that would also help with my problem; trying to tweak the drag coefficient, but it only changes in increments of 5 - so i can set 2 or 7, say, but nothing in-between...
Since drag squares with speed you REALLY want decimal place or two for this value, since it's the natural determinant of top speed, something you wanna fine-tune whilst rolling... As-is, i still have to exit the game to make the edit, then reload to try it out..
I'm seeing trucks spawning in mid-air and then driving around whilst showing as white blips on the radar...?
I approached one and it was a flatbed carrying a motorcycle. Why the map blip? Am i supposed to interact with it somehow?
Awesome car, love it! Thanks for sharing!
Love the car, hate the handling!
How do i replace the handling data with Killatomate's warrener? Or would it be possible to offer an alternative .xml file with handling consistent with RealisticDrivingV?
@satyr - Seconded mate, although it looks easy enough to do yourself - just cut & paste all the entries from this mod onto the end of KT's, and delete any duplicates (although i don't think there are any planes in KT's handling file?).. whatever entries are included in mods/update.rpf/common/data/handling.meta should automatically supercede any vanilla duplicates elsewhere. Haven't tested this but pretty sure that's how things work..
@Walder - i'm commenting on this mod, not the default in-game camera; in ECS the in-game settings do actually control the mod settings, but not here, i always have auto-centering disabled anyway because i'm using a head-tracker.. but that setting has no effect on this mod.
1st person view pitch keeps auto-centering, and there's no way to set the pitch angle...
..i need to set the pitch angle either on the fly, or per-vehicle, and Extended Camera Settings does the latter (by setting both max and min pitch angles to the same number, typically around -8° to -16°, on a per-vehicle basis), at the expense of then being able to look up & down whilst driving.
Basically if this mod enabled the same basic functionality as ECS, and improved upon it (specifically with configurable auto-centering pitch angles, and all settings adjustable on the fly, either from a menu or by re-loading a settings config from a hotkey combo), then it would be the ideal and definitive camera mod for head-tracking (i use TrackIR and FreePIE).
Unfortunately ECS doesn't have an 'off' switch so conflicts with this mod, competing for and alternately winning camera control, so it's one or the other for now.
I do like the smoothness and responsiveness, important from a head-tracking perspective, but it's difficult to appreciate when your chin's stuck to your chest trying to keep the camera angled down at the road...
Both mods would of course be redundant if only R* pulled their finger out and provided the bare minimum of camera and seat control that any 1st-person driving game needs as standard, but for now, neither mod is the complete solution, and worse, it's one or the other since ECS doesn't play friendly with other camera mods..
I'm giving this five stars anyway even tho i can't use it, since i like where it's going, ECS seems to have stalled in development, and we're still lacking a definitive 1st person driving camera.
If you could nail the auto-centering pitch angles, add x, y & z offsets and make all configurable in-game (incl. FoV), either from a menu or settings-reload hotkey, there'd be a drink in it from me..
LOL no worries mate, just went down to the docks and watched one of these beasts roll thru, absolutely stunning mod mate!
