GTAV HD Texture Overhaul Project
This is an ongoing texture project to make most textures in gtav a higher resolution . Now that the tools are available i will be going through and converting the textures to a 2048 or 4096 texture size as well as changing a few for better aesthetics. Most of gta's textures now are 512x512 or 1024x1024 , i will be doubling that and sharpening/touching them up a bit. This first patch will just be for testing purposes as i would consider this a beta, however i have already changed a few textures to 4096 (with hardly any fps drop) . and with much success i might add. Over the next couple weeks i will be updating the mod to include more textures and most likely will have to move to torrents or other hosting sites as this site only allows for 100mb size.
--How to install--
1. Extract the archive.
2. Run OpenIV
3. In OpenIV navigate to
x64u.rpf - levels - gta5 - hills - country_06 - cs6_01.rpf
4. Drag extracted archive into Openiv
5. Rebuild

I think my computer will literally explode, if I installed this mod. :D
You say that you shouldnt play online with this since its a mod but you're perhaps a bit badly informed on the matter. Graphical and visual mods are allowed as Rockstar themselves have said. Its not able to detect visual mods and new models unless it uses a script.

Everything in the .ytd texture file is exactly the same except it has 1 extra 4k texture that isn't even in the original file. - im_ground_dirt004.dds

@bur587 They are pretty scattered. So, there must be like more than 20 mods. I would say wait for awhile. There is a GTA Realism mod that is doin full overhaul of V world. Its next update is getting full n final stuff.
